A Cowgirl-Nurse Says Fight for IVM and Covid Treatment, Ignore Panic Media, and Trust in God
ICU nurse Lindy Sharon says don't "cowboy it out at home," but ask your doctor for the preventative and early care physicians have provided for centuries.
As a Registered Nurse, the past year has seen me through some brutal stretches of ICU shifts in the covid trenches of rural America. My emotions, since the beginning of the pandemic, have been “from hell to breakfast” (to borrow the old cowboy saying). We have lost people in our small community that I would have never thought. Covid plays Russian roulette with no apologies. It causes a pneumonia like we have never seen before. I have not typically been very emotional in my nursing career. I can count the cases that have messed me up and remember each vividly. But this time around it’s harder. Our people who are fighting for their every breath did not ask for this. It brings on the same emotions for me that I have when I hear about an innocent bystander being hit by a drunk driver. It’s traumatic. It’s unexpected. It makes me want to be angry....not sure at who or what quite yet or how to be angry. Here’s what I do know though: God knows. He knows. He knows.
This deal has brought our plans and our confidence in the best medical care to our knees. It’s crushed our trust in data and science and what “they” say. We know it all and then we know nothing. Listen to me for a second though—if you feel sick do not “cowboy it out” at home. Call your doctor. Ask what they can do for you for early treatment. Ask them a novel thought—ask them if they will do what physicians have done for centuries—which is practice medicine. If your physician follows the narrative that they have been instructed to by the three initial authoritarians of our current world, the narrative that “there is nothing we can do until you have trouble breathing,” then find a doctor who will prescribe early treatment. Early treatment such as ivermectin. Recognize that the narrative of no early treatment is not in your best interest. Not in the best interest of the sanctity of human life—your life.
Cut down your chances of serious illness before it hits: Take your vitamins!! Turn loose of those extra pounds! Get fresh air, sunshine, exercise, good feed and hydration! Contact your primary care provider and ask what his or her plan is for early covid treatment should it strike your household. Stop listening to the one-sided media that induces fear and panic. Let’s keep living until we die! My saying this year has been “time will tell.” And the Bible verse that keeps rolling around in my head is “some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”
So as this battle rages on and the trenches wind here and there amidst this variant and that mandate, we are still here. As nurses who care for every body and every soul that shows up at the hospital we want you to get care before you collapse at our doorstep. We want you to fight for preventative and early care at home. We want you to win the war.

CONCLUSION: Don't be a moron... get vaccinated! 💉👍
Even if you're a Cowgirl 😉
