Good News for Everyone On Earth
RESCUE is the first publication devoted to the brilliant doctors, treatments, and FDA-approved drugs that are saving thousands and could end the pandemic.
I never thought a pandemic would cripple the planet, killing millions, and I’d be the only mainstream journalist in the world covering the most important, life-saving news.
Nor did my wife, Teresa Banik Capuzzo. This would be an unendurable burden alone for either one of us. But there are two of us—a little bit like Vincent Price and Franca Bettoia in the horror plague classic The Last Man on Earth.
But we are no longer alone. Nor are you. When you sign up for RESCUE you’re joining a movement sweeping every country in the world: journalists, doctors, nurses, PAs, patients, scientists, activists, and tens of thousands of regular folks. Everybody’s regular folk in a pandemic, looking for ways to live and not die. Looking for the truth, based on the latest scientific evidence and the clinical judgement of the best doctors, of how to avoid and survive COVID-19, in all its terrible phases, whether you’ve been vaccinated or not.
These are suddenly forbidden subjects, insanely suppressed by governments and media around the world, that our team of journalists will write about:
The safe, affordable, FDA-approved drugs and supplements that will help keep you from getting sick with COVID-19 whether you’ve been stuck or not.
The doctors and protocols that will keep you out of the ICU or send you home early from the hospital—saved from COVID-19—instead of in a body bag.
Here’s our manifesto:
No story is more important that the medical news that can save your life. Call it Hippocratic journalism. And nothing and nobody is more important in the world of medicine than the doctor whose paramount concern is, or should be, treating you with everything in their toolbox, using their best clinical judgement in the moment by the creed of the ancient and irreplaceable Hippocratic Oath.
These statements were not controversial in the Before Time. Now they can cost a doctor his or her job at one of our leading medical centers.
Sunday, May 10th, 2020, was our inciting moment. Teresa and I wished her mom a phone-call Happy Mother’s Day with a stiff upper lip. Monday would start the juggernaught of a jittery world in pandemic month three. The planet was shut down in fear with people actually dying in the streets, and the great cities of the world emptied like a reality remake of another sci-fi horror classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still.
CNN reported that the terrifying, virulent new respiratory plague had spread to 4 million people worldwide, with 281,000 dead, including 79,508 in the United States. Millions of Americans were projected to die, and not all or any of the world’s doctors could stop the plague. Crushing isolation, masks, and social distancing, social and economic collapse, were the only alternative to mass graves. The justification for these unprecedented steps was that there was no treatment available for COVID-19.
This was of course not true, but I didn’t know it. Nor did Tess.
Then that afternoon, while browsing the Internet, my mouth fell open. I stumbled across Dr. Pierre Kory’s testimony four days earlier to the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs committee (his first Senate appearance, before he would launch the international ivermectin movement with 8 million YouTube views on Dec. 8).
Dr. Kory, a highly published former professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison medical school, had returned to his besieged New York City hometown to fight COVID-19 on the front lines as ICU chief at Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital. I called Teresa over to watch. She was equally stunned—and excited. Here was hope. Dr. Kory and his research group had discovered that steroids, though all but banned by the major health agencies as a COVID-19 treatment, were in fact the most crucial life-saving answer for gravely ill patients.
This video is medical history being made. Watch from 1:15 to 16:42 and you’ll experience what we did. Here is the text link to his remarks: Dr. Pierre Kory's Nostradamus moment.
More than a month earlier, Dr. Kory and his four colleagues at the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC.net) had discovered the corticosteroid-based cocktail of cheap, safe, FDA-approved drugs that was saving almost everybody. It would eventually become the basis of the world standard of hospitalized care. After maddening weeks of trying to get the message out in the major media, here is Dr. Kory’s testimony on May 6:
“Members of our group have now treated in excess of 100 hospitalized patients with our treatment protocol. Nearly all survived. The 2 that died were in their eighties and had advanced chronic medical conditions. None of the patients have had long stays on the ventilator nor become ventilator dependent. The patients generally have a short hospital stay and are discharged in good health.”
Teresa and I, with a combined ninety years in journalism and nearly 200 journalism awards for writing, editing, and publishing at the highest levels, know a news story when we hear one. A group of the most qualified doctors and academic researchers on the planet, backed by their success on the front lines saving COVID-19 patients in teaching hospitals, reported to the U.S. Senate that they’d cracked the code of the coronavirus. Their acclaimed MATH+ protocol, being used in ICUs across the globe, could save almost everybody, reopen society, and save the world? We thought it was kind of a big story. Maybe the biggest story in the world.
How simple-minded were we.
But nope. Sorry, world. CNN passed. So did ABC, CBS, NBC, BBC, NPR, FOX, et. al, all the blind alphabet brethren. CNN had set their coverage in (tomb) stone a month earlier, on April 6, in effect—this is a deadly, unstoppable plague, dammit, because NIH bureaucrats say so, and that’s what the “science” says, no matter how many doctors around the world save how many thousand of people, the Hippocratic Oath be damned. On April 6, CNN New York producer Lauren del Valle and national correspondent Miguel Marquez filed this exclusive terrifying account, repeated endlessly around the world:
Inside an ER during the coronavirus outbreak
Brooklyn, New York (CNN) One emergency room. Forty minutes. Six patients go into cardiac arrest. Four die before they make it out of the ER.
The blare of the critical "CODE 99" from the hospital alert system rings out five other times in less than an hour, calling medics to scramble to a patient needing resuscitation.
It's not chaos to them, but to an onlooker, it seems like hell.
"They're so sick you lose them in a heartbeat, they're that sick," respiratory therapist Julie Eason told CNN. "They're talking to you and then a few minutes later you're putting a tube down their throat and you're hoping that you can set the ventilator in such a way that it actually helps them."
This is the truth of what coronavirus is doing to thousands of Americans, and likely will to many thousand more.
It was the tragic truth: you were overwhelmingly likely to die in this situation if you were using CNN or any of the major networks or great newspapers as your doctor. But if you were being treated by Dr. Kory, his mentor Dr. Paul Marik at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, ICU chief at the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and the the second most published critical care doctor in the history of medicine, or their colleagues—the world’s top experts on COVID-19 treatments—you were overwhelmingly likely to live. We kind of thought this was news, too. CNN and all the rest did not agree. (Seven weeks after his May 6 testimony, the Oxford Recovery trial confirmed the vital importance of steroids in late COVID-19 treatment, and Drs. Kory and Marik were recognized in the medical world as the prime movers of the global standard of care that has saved countless lives. The media quickly reversed course on steroids, while continuing, to this day, to slam Kory and his colleagues as kooks).
You can sense Dr. Kory’s high hopes and deep frustration talking to a stone-deaf Congress and global media on May 6. Long before he made ivermectin a global cause célèbre, the doctor had already looked into his crystal ball, diagnosing both our Covid-wracked bodies and our body politic, and described to the Senate the three horses of the coming apocalypse of government/media incompetence:
The fatal misreading of medical data by WHO, CDC, and NIH desk-jockey doctors that claimed steroids—the ONLY effective treatment at the time—were the most dangerous treatment and to be avoided at all costs. (Dr. Marik calculated 300,000 lives needlessly lost in early 2020 alone before he got heartsick and stopped counting.)
The incomprehensible, cowardly, conceit of the WHO, NIH, and CDC to recommend against any early treatments at all and recommend for “almost solely…'supportive care only'” strategies, Kory said, which stopped doctors all over the globe in their tracks from applying the Hippocratic Oath, demonized all successful early treatments, and led to many unnecessary deaths. “Things like Tylenol for fever, gentle hydration/nutrition then oxygen or a ventilator to support breathing,” was a strategy “that is clearly failing as evidenced by unprecedented death rates and widespread and life-threatening shortages in ventilators, ICU beds, and ICU physicians and nurses,” he said.
The totalitarian tendency rising. Kory: “The third alarming factor we have witnessed, many of us firsthand, is the increasingly widespread insistence within institutions, medical journals, and health societies that any proposed medical therapies for COVID-19 only be given to patients who participate in clinical trials. We are aware of instances whereby “restrictions” were proposed and placed against commonly used FDA approved medicines if used off-label in COVID-19, a practice that all doctors do every day.”
His first Senate testimony launched Dr. Kory and his FLCCC.net colleagues on their public mission to save the world. That moment launched me and Teresa, too. Let this be your moment. Join us and support us to help us report the truth and get the word out to better equip us all to save our loved ones—and save our world.
We’re publishing the first samples of our work today: How we broke the global Ivermectin story in our magazine, Mountain Home. You will read Part One of that narrative on the thrilling scientific discovery of the COVID-19-killing drug and the forces around the world trying to stop it. Our story is being translated and saving lives all around the world, doctors tell us, and is the beginning of my next book, The Covid Cowboys, which I’ll be sharing with you. We look forward to your comments and ideas.
Hippocratic journalism reporting on the Hippocratic Oath. It’s easy to imagine if you try: honoring one patient, one life, one story, at a time.
Thank you!!!
Heart-breaking and simultaneously enraging. I truly hope class-action suits will be following and many many evil people go to jail for the rest of their lives
