What a beautiful and very well written story. Thank you for sharing this! I had lost all hope in doctors but this has renewed my hope. I will share this story with many. We all need to hear this right now as the Most important thing a doctor can do is save lives and he or she should never be stopped or shamed for doing that! I don’t know what is happening right now in the medical field but we need more doctors like Dr. Jack Kamen.
Beautiful story! I used this endotracheal tube when I was training to be a nurse. I remember when doctors and nurses had a vocation not a profession. These are two different things. You were devoted to your patient. They were yours…almost like part of your family. Hospitals operated to take care of patients. They weren’t corporations interested in profit. Dr. Kamen would have never told his patient to come to the hospital when his lips were blue. He would have used every resource to find a treatment. May your father RIP. There is a place for him in Heaven and all his patients will be there to welcome him.
What a beautiful tribute to your father- what a remarkable man/physician. Confident that he lives on in the lives of the many patients he treated. You were blessed to have him in your life. Also thank you for your work with Frontline (Flccc.net) I refer to the site often!!! God Bless
Your father's testimony and moving tribute (you're an excellent writer!) sheds a glimmer of hope in humanity, in this unfortunate dark world of scientists and doctors whose concern is for big business and their bank accounts instead of their patients. This is a beautiful tribute!
Just beautiful Michael what a lovely tribute to what sounds like a great man and a wonderful physician I too have lost faith in the medical profession over the past couple of years I don’t know how I’ll ever get it back but your story is very inspirational and I know there must be other physicians that think like he did thank you for allowing me access to your father through you.
Condolences on the loss of your father. Thank you for sharing who he was as a physician and how it ties into what we are seeing today with doctors not being allowed to be doctors.
Thank-you for the wonderful story of your Dad's caring for and about his patients. He was quite a man. Far from the people who seem to go into medicine now to only make lots of money.
You were very lucky to have him as your father. I'm deeply sorry for this loss to your family. May God bless you and your family during this sad time and beyond. I know HE will enjoy your fathers company.

My 94 yo mom, thankfully, survived covid - with IVM and mild symptoms.

What an inspiring story, especially for these times. Thank you, father AND son, for reminding the world why doctors must be allowed to be doctors.
My husband was a physician like this. God bless each health care worker whose highest goal is patient well-being.
Perfect and poignant. Thank you.
