Dr. Jones was not only brilliant, but one of the most compassionate, courageous people I have ever met. Thank you, Mary Beth, for this extraordinary article, paying tribute to this wonderful physician. Thank you also for shedding light on the massive problem of the medical establishment's ignorance about tick-borne diseases.

I've been working with Lyme disease patients for over 30 years, and I continue to be deeply disturbed when I learn of the denial of Lyme, sometimes for years, by medical and mental health practitioners, even when families bring up Lyme. I hope, Mary Beth, that you will continue to shed light on the multiple factors behind this willful ignorance!

Too many children, as well as adults, are suffering!

Lovely article Mary Beth. Have you come across the book Bitten, by Kris Newby? If so what do you think about its premise: that Lyme was born from biological warfare research?

Dr Luc Montagnier RIP, won the Nobel prize for discovering the AIDS virus and agrees w/ Dr Jones. Itā€™s one of the things luc montagnier studied in his later years. High prolonged doses of antibiotics will cure ā€œchronicā€ lime disease. He also connected autism to lime disease.

Made a couple of visit to the clinic in New Haven with my son, Zack, when he was around 7. Heā€™s a healthy 28-year-old now. Nice tribute.

Thank God for the doctors who are willing to independently practice the art of medicine, instead of plugging in the official formulas. It should not take individual state laws to protect doctors who want to follow both their heart and the evidence.

I contracted Lyme in 1992. I know what this roller coaster can do to oneā€™s life. So when the FDA and CDC started making their policies irrefutable concerning Covid 19 and treatment protocols, it was no surprise to me. The fact that most people still consider these agencies the last word on anything related to policy and management of disease is the tragedy. So many lives lost or marginalized because of inter-agency corruption and collusion with big pharma. Rest In Peace, Dr. Jones.

Thanks for sharing this account. On one hand it's a beautiful story and inspirational knowing such caring docs exist. On the other hand, this happens far too often and is criminal how these strong doctors are treated. It is easy to say that parts of the medical hierarchy are a criminal organization solely concerned with their relationship with pharma. Certainly covid has finally exposed on a large scale the criminal nature and now the masses have seen it with their own eyes. Maybe we can start seeing a change, then again...

Brava! Thank you, Mary Beth, for this moving and much deserved tribute. I was very fortunate to have had my own children treated by Dr. Jones, to later share a number of patients with him through my practice as a clinical psychologist, and also to count him as a dear friend. I'm grateful that I was able to visit him often during that last period when he was experiencing a steeper medical decline, when he remained the caring, compassionate person he'd always been. He also was mentally as sharp as ever, remembering details from previous conversations, asking how my family was doing, or discussing the news of the day. While he clearly missed his practice, he delighted in the many cards and other expressions of gratitude that continued to pour in from former patients and colleagues. If he had one "fault," it was his inability to put himself first, which might have allowed him greater physical comfort during his final years. Rest In Peace, dear Dr. Jones. Your contributions will live on through the many children whose health you helped to restore.

I learned a great deal from my preceptorship with Dr Jones in 2005. He was a great clinician with a compassionate soul who was the first to treat children suffering with tick borne infections. Thousands in the Lyme community have benefited from his wisdom. God bless you, Ray. Thank you for everything! Ann F Corson MD
